The House Edge Playtest + Marking Fulfillment Complete
11 days ago – Tue, Mar 24, 2026 at 07:59:37 AM

Triangle Agency X Fist: The House Edge. Nobody wins every time. A blue figure with smoke for hair and wearing a red and gray dealer's uniform in a skewed way, holds two cards suspended between his hands, one of which portrays himself as a joker.

Hello, Agents!

The game has been out digitally for a year and a half, and it’s been a year since the physical game was fulfilled. In that time, we’ve won three ENnie awards (Best Writing, Best Rules, and Best Game) and were Indie Groundbreaker Game of the Year. Triangle Agency is now being translated or already released in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, French!

We have a Patreon where we’re working on support for the game, like a setting guide for a university town called TRIANGLE U, rules for Clean-Up missions, new guidance for publishing your own missions and a GMing advice blog!

Still, there are three stretch goals we promised you:

  • The House Edge, a crossover module in the Triangle Agency setting playable with FIST
  • Triangle Agency: Architect, a solo game
  • Three’s Company, a crossover Triangle Agency mission with The Company

Following the campaign, these projects kept moving, but slowly, as they waited for my plate to become less full. If you’ve been keeping up with Haunted Table on other channels, you know we recently hired satah, a talented editor and game designer who was also interested in helping the business run smoothly. With their help, we’ve started getting these projects back on track.

Which brings me to . . .

The House Edge!

The House Edge logo: a spade pointing downwards inside of a diamond. The spade splits the diamond into two triangles.

I’ll start with the most important stuff and then give you some background. First, you can access our playtest version of The House Edge, called the Unstable Edition, by clicking this link. This version is available to everyone who backed during the campaign. It checks the email you used here with the email you have on your Itch.io account, just like in the campaign.

If you didn’t back during the campaign, you can still join in! This same edition is available to our patrons on Patreon. It’s only $3/month to get access to all our playtest material as it comes out.

THE HOUSE EDGE is a collaborative project between B. Everett Dutton of CLAYMORE, who created FIST, and our team. B, satah, Sean Ireland, and I have all contributed to this game. Initially, we thought it would be a relatively simple crossover adventure for FIST–but now it’s a semi-standalone game, using the FIST ruleset, and compatible with an existing FIST campaign. It’s huge, and weird, and we’ll need your help testing it.

This game features a repeatable dungeon built from a deck of cards. FIST has been given a strange door by someone named NOBODY which leads to the Triangle Agency Vault on June 6, 1984. Operatives who step through the door get caught in a time loop, repeatedly invading the Vault’s randomized rooms until they grow strong enough to accomplish NOBODY’s secret goals.

The version we have now is that dungeon–along with some rules for the "repeatable" part. It's missing a few key elements that are still in development, mostly story elements we want to keep secret until they're fully ready for prime time. For now, we're hoping you'll help us test what it feels like to play the game's loop without the story elements that develop primarily in the "late-game." (It will be obvious where those gaps are in the document.)

This document is not in layout, and is a simple text document similar to the core game's Unstable Edition. We'll be updating over time with improvements to navigation and usability.

We have big dreams for The House Edge! Keep your eyes out for:

  • Over a dozen unique characters to meet not present in this version, and a final challenge that puts your characters at the center of a key moment in Triangle Agency history.
  • Tweaks, additions, and edits through additional playtests on our Patreon!
  • A pre-order campaign or crowdfund for a full version, including illustrations from Kodasea and Claymore, in physical print.
  • A deck of unique Triangle Agency playing cards featuring icons and illustrations designed specifically for The House Edge by Michael Shillingburg and Kodasea!
Nobody, a blue figure whose head is becoming a cloud of sparkly smoke. He's wearing a ratty dark cloak over a dealer's uniform that's worn askew, bowtie on his wrist and vest on the wrong way. Also, the House Edge cardback, with radiating lines making triangles around the logo, which has a spade pointing downwards inside of a diamond.

For this playtest, we want your feedback! This is an "early access roguelike" and we know there will be plenty of things to improve. (Just the starting cards available means there are over 23206929840 different ways your first trip through the Vault can go!)

Check out the feedback survey at https://forms.gle/3VNMqMggLcv4heuaA or drop off your notes on our Discord server at discord.hauntedtable.games!

Also of note: this document contains everything in this playtest version of The House Edge for ease of reading straight through, but several pieces of it have been broken out into individual documents for ease of use during play. There’s also a file you can import into playingcards.io to create a room for The House Edge. Check the folder!

Here’s a simple digital character keeper as well: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CLH1HJZrhXNDZOZm9Vf3IEh2mzGmy7zUt_B9cIpufr0/edit?usp=sharing

The House Edge Plan for KS Backers

So, we might be crowdfunding our new, bigger version of The House Edge. What does that mean for you as backers, who are receiving it as a digital stretch goal?

Simple: you will continue to receive updates to any digital version of the game. That version may have a different final look based on how well our sales + fundraising go, but you’ll get the best digital version of whatever we create at no charge. You’ll also get any changes to the Unstable as they’re pushed to the Itch version. And I feel like I should stress: this version is already 3 or 4 times the initially-planned scope. Depending on how your table feels about it, it could be a campaign-length “minigame” for your existing FIST campaign. It’s big, and still growing!

If you want a physical copy or the deck of cards we’re hoping to develop, that will be a separate purchase or pledge! That support will be turned directly into more production for THE, and it’ll help us afford to print this game as the new big, weird thing it is.

We will not be posting development updates here past this point, just additional releases—if you want to keep up with the step-by-step of playtesting and development, join the Patreon at the free tier or above.

I hope you’ll check it out, playtest with us, and consider supporting us later this year!

The Plan for Architect & Three’s Company

Both Architect and Three’s Company are still in our plans. As with The House Edge, all KS backers will get the digitals of those when they’re ready. Here’s where they stand in development:

  • Alfred Valley turned in a full draft of Architect last year, during a time where the future of Triangle Agency was very much in flux—story concepts have changed, and overall game response has surprised us in a few ways. We’re going to pick it back up after The House Edge to get it polished up for release to y’all. You can see a piece of it on our Patreon now: an Anomaly generator that’s useful for main campaign play, too.
  • Three’s Company is basically ready on the The Company side but writing it on the TA side has kept getting bumped down the road. Originally, it was going to be a prequel to the Zbarro mission in the Vault—but now, considering how long it’s taken, we want to rework it into something that can react to how your group played through Zbarro.

Marking the Campaign Complete

So, these digital bonuses are still on their way, and you’ll get them when they’re ready. But this campaign has been sitting marked unfinished for almost a year since it was fulfilled! The game has been shipped to all backers, and Triangle Agency has become available at stores around the world. It’s time to mark the campaign complete!

Stretch goals are still coming, but the project itself is done. Marking this particular campaign complete will make it easier for us to plan campaigns for future games, and we'll keep working on the extras until they're ready.

New Shirts and Mugs!

This shirt also comes in black!

We've added modern Triangle Agency shirts and mugs to our store!

This shirt also comes in white!

We've also brought back the retro collection with the Triangle Agency 80s logo! All mugs are 25 and shirts are 35-- when bought together, bundles from the same era are only $50.

Pick them up here!

Thank you so much!

Check out The House Edge playtest, give us your feedback, and come join the conversation in the Discord. Let me know if you have any questions, and I hope you’ll support our future work, as well. This whole process has been a whirlwind, an honor, and a dream.

More soon,

Caleb

Ennies Tabletop RPG Awards Logo. 2025 Nominee

Incredible news: we've been nominated for 4 ENnie Awards! Triangle Agency is in the running for:

  • Best Game
  • Product of the Year
  • Best Rules
  • Best Writing

Final winners are determined by community vote. That means you can decide the winners! You can vote by clicking this link. Ranked choice voting: 1 is the best, 5 is the lowest. If you don't have an opinion on something, don't rank it!

I really hope you'll consider Triangle Agency for each of these categories. This is a really competitive year with tons of amazing indie games in the running, so we'll need your help to have a chance.

Again, you can vote by clicking this link! Voting closes on July 20th.

Our Live Event at Twenty Sided Store

Sean, Caleb, and Michael visited Twenty Sided Store at NYC last week! Sean & Caleb recorded an episode of Talk of the Table with Elliot and Brian from Many Sided Media. The episode will be up soon.

Brian, Sean, Caleb, and Elliot in the Twenty Sided Store basement.

Our Q&A included a little teaser: we're working with Many Sided Media to produce a long-form Triangle Agency AP! More details to come in the following months.

What Else is Going On?

A lot of projects are moving! I'm working on a way to provide games support, missions, and playtestable stuff to our regular players before full perfectionist release. Probably something like a Patreon model coming in the next month or so. Our promised extra games and crossovers for backers are still in progress alongside that, so you should start seeing a big increase in Triangle Agency stuff arriving this year.

I'd never seen so much Triangle Agency outside of our PAX booth!

BUT FOR REAL, GO VOTE FOR THE ENNIES

You can vote right here. There's lots of categories, and you can even do it gradually! Start with Game, Product of the Year, Rules, and Writing. :)

CRIT Awards Finalist + Digital Accessibility Updates!
10 months ago – Tue, Jun 03, 2025 at 12:01:47 PM

Hello, Agents!

It's almost been two years since this campaign, and almost year since our digital release! Isn't that amazing? I have a few quick updates for y'all.

Triangle Agency is a finalist for BEST INDIE TTRPG at the CRIT Awards!

Crit Awards Finalists for best Indie TTRPG: Bump in the Dark Revised Edition by Jex Thomas, Punk is Dead by Critical Kit, Everspark by Cezar Capacle, Brambletrek by Crossed Paths, and Triangle Agency by Haunted Table.

I'm really grateful for your nominations in the last round getting us here. Now there's a second round of voting to see who wins! Check out the list of finalists in every category here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1REC7Pu8P6saFltG8sA-e7tdAz9_2BQFlM1LhTfHkyKs/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.6izgmiiaf5ul

Triangle Agency & The Vault Accessibility Update Now Available!

Version 1.1 of the Core Rulebook and The Vault have been uploaded on Itch, Drivethru, and our Shopify store. (We've also provided Modiphius with the update and that should be pushed through their download channels soon as well.) This version has:

  • Bookmarks
  • Hyperlinks (For the table of contents, Playwall unlocks, and codes at the end of Anomaly questions)
  • Full screen reader compatibility!

Simplified rich text versions of both books are also coming in the next month or so.

There is only one actual content change in this book, and it's an update to a paragraph around Quality Assurances. We were getting a question regularly that was not intended to be ambiguous at all, so we made it clear that QAs can only be spent from the Quality relevant to the roll.

Quality Assurances: To ensure you are acting in accordance with our expectations, the Agency provides you with a set of Quality Assurances, or QAs, in a combination decided when selecting your Competency. Quality Assurances are not based on your Agent’s inherent or developed skillset. They are tied to behaviors the Agency hopes you will embody! For example, having three QAs in Empathy does not make you any more empathetic than someone with zero; it means the Agency will intercede to assist you more often in situations involving Empathy. After you roll, you may spend any number of Quality Assurances from the roll's relevant Quality. For each QA spent, you may physically adjust one die to a different face, changing the roll's result.

Other than that, changes in both books were about typos or layout mistakes, not content. Creating this was a complicated process, and part of why they took so long is because fixing them for screen reader compatibility also messed with the layering of things in the document. This means you might find entirely new issues despite us having read over the whole book multiple times to hunt for them.

For this and other possible problems, we're reintroducing a new version of Bug Reports: a forum on our Discord!

Finally, if you or someone you know uses a screen reader, please let us know if there is any way we can improve on the existing version to make things easier. Dai Shugars, our PDF Remediation expert, has offered to continue updating and improving to feedback.

Core Rulebooks 25% Off!

To celebrate our CRIT Awards nomination and first anniversary, we're having our first sale: 25% off the Core Rulebook for the month of June. If you want another copy for the table or have a friend who's been waiting, they can pick up the book for only $45 here: https://shop.hauntedtable.games/collections/games/products/triangle-agency-core-rulebook-preorder

That's all for today!

Progress on our other projects is moving along gradually, and you'll be the first to know when something new is ready to play. Hope you're having a pleasant summer so far, and thank you for playing!

More soon,

Caleb

General Update - Mugs Available Again!
about 1 year ago – Thu, Apr 03, 2025 at 10:18:20 AM

Hello, Agents!

Things have been quiet for a few months, and it's a good thing! Most backers have their games now, the game is available to the public, and campaigns are playing all over the world every week. Here are some general updates.

Mugs are Available Again!

Triangle Agency mugs are available again! For immediate shipping, you can get a mug from our store for $20 + shipping while supplies last. Shipping cost is the same for up to 3 mugs, so pick up multiple to stack! (This shipping deal doesn't apply internationally, and I don't recommend ordering mugs outside of the US.)

Two Triangle Agency mugs with a retro logo. They have a stackable base and a square handle.

Italian Agency

The Italian edition of Triangle Agency, localized by NessunDove, is available for pre-order! Check out their flip-through video here, which is totally surreal for me to watch:

We're working with additional publishers to localize the game in other languages. If you know a publisher in your country who might be interested in licensing the game for localization, send them our way!

Mission Restructuring

We're working on new guidance for structuring missions, and a new format for creating them! People from all sorts of play cultures have been giving feedback on The Vault, and we've identified some challenges, assumptions, and expectations we're hoping to adjust with future missions. Some examples:

  • Chaos is best used to help the Anomaly fight back against Agent interference, not as a tool for the Anomaly to accomplish its original ambitions. It's also not necessarily used to punish the Agents unless they're acting outside of those goals. This flow has come naturally to some GMs, and less to others. We're hoping to present Chaos Effects (and Anomalies' goals) in more clear terms, so GMs understand how to use it to return to the status quo when challenged, and aren't getting stuck thinking they can't do anything if they don't have chaos.
  • Specific detail on environment/location in Triangle Agency missions has diminishing returns. Ask the Agency can make sweeping changes to locations and situations, so spending too much time on these details can distract GMs from what they truly need to master: the Anomaly's Focus, its desires, and the purpose of the story they're telling with it.
  • Active stories, not sandboxes. Agents' abilities are most powerful and interesting when they're trying to change what's happening, not searching for what to do. They are breaking into an ongoing story and deciding whether to change the ending. (Can you tell that there's a theme across all of these of refocusing toward Anomalous intent?)
  • Shorter! Once you're good at running Triangle Agency, the game works best if there's less weighing you down. You don't want to be getting in the way of big sweeping changes to the story, because they're the coolest part of the game! Missions don't need to be as long as they've been in the Vault if they're focused on the right stuff.

For now, I hope you'll consider those tips as you're crafting your own missions! I'm hoping we can present some really strong examples and guidance before too long.

Clean-Up, Market Disruption, and Following Campaign Threads

Not much to report here, but we have folks working on example missions for each of these categories! If you play games where you've tried out alternate mission types or have built an overarching campaign story from major Anomalies, come share your play reports and read some written by others in our Discord!

Stretch Goals are Coming Along!

Our last update remains largely accurate. I am moving much slower than I would like to be, and can say with confidence the delays on this are my bad. Basically, I'm the only one doing the business side of the company, including customer service, and that takes up a lot of my time. Combine that with some general burnout from working constantly on this project for a couple years, and we have a recipe for slow creative work!

I've made some changes on the business side to start supporting myself better, like locking customer service emails to particular hours and paying myself a basic wage for the work. I've also been refilling my creative energy for Triangle Agency by working on some other projects and doing a ton of reading, which hopefully will pay off in major dividends for the TA community eventually, too. :)

Thanks for your patience on this stuff, and know that I'm as excited to finish it as you are to see it!

Community Projects

I want to highlight a few community projects that I've been really grateful for, and impressed by!

Actual Plays

There have been so many -- search youtube and your podcast catcher for way more than I've even been able to keep track of! I just want to highlight three here that I'm especially excited about.

Podcast Read & Reviews

If you want to hear some folks talk about Triangle Agency, here are some of my favorite recent conversations. Linking here on Spotify, but you can find them wherever you listen!

  • RTFM read through Triangle Agency and discussed the book in its entirety with guest Sam Leigh!
  • Tabletop Book Club talked about the book with Sean and I, and I tell the story of the terrible frog statue cursing my life.

This is absolutely not an exhaustive list of any of these categories. I hope especially you'll go support the folks who have put on Actual Plays or created supplemental material--you might find some creators you love, and it helps keep the game alive!

How will the new US Tariffs affect us?

Basically, we will be delaying a reprint until things start to look better. I think we will be looking at a long time without Briefcase Collections once these run out (and they might, in the next few months, if we stay on the pace we've been selling). We have plenty of books and Agency dice for now, though, because we invested in a large print run with your support.

So, if you know anyone who definitely wants the Briefcase Collection, I recommend you tell them to pick one up from the store at their earliest convenience! I don't want to alarm anybody unnecessarily, as we want to keep things in stock as much as we can. In normal circumstances we would be planning a second print run, but for now need to hold off until we know what the damage is.

It also means we will likely hold off on announcing/publishing large projects for a while. My plan is to release smaller projects digitally to support the game, but not to aim too big until we can do so in a smart way.

Thanks for reading!

That's all for now. You'll hear from me again when there's new stuff to announce! Thanks so much to everybody who has read, played, and supported our game.

More soon,

Caleb

Happy New Year! Fulfillment Update, Instructions for Shipping Issues, and What We're Working On
about 1 year ago – Sat, Jan 11, 2025 at 10:33:34 AM

Fulfillment Update & Instructions

I've been holding out longer than normal on this update so that I can give some clear directions, starting right away. Most of our shipping is done now, though, which means the hardest part of this whole campaign is over! Hooray!

There's still some stuff to figure out and clean up, and then of course we have some small bonus games still headed your way, but it's a good moment. Thank you for your patience and support, and I hope I can get through this and get to work on new stuff for you, soon.

Check the header for your situation for an update and instructions! There's also a "what are we working on" segment at the end!

US, UK, EU, AUS, and NZ Kickstarter Backers & Backerkit Pre-Orders

If you filled out your survey and paid shipping on time, you should all have received either your game or a shipping notification for your game by now. If you haven't: go look for a shipping notification in your inbox or spam with the email you input on Kickstarter/Backerkit. If you can't find anything and have no evidence of your order, you might fall into one of the other categories below.

ROW Orders (Mostly Canada, Asia, South America)

These are being processed now, and some may require special attention. Please keep an eye out for an email from CRWN Studios or Aetherworks. I'll post again once these are as complete as they can be.

If you have any questions or special needs about this, email me at [email protected] with all relevant information, including backer or order number.

If you're a Triscendent Tier Backer who never scheduled a game:

I had to cancel on one backer because of sickness (and will be rescheduling that soon) but otherwise, I know there are several of you who never reached out! If you backed at this high tier and haven't taken advantage of your game, please send me an email at [email protected]

I'm going to be reaching out again, and I've sent multiple emails about this already. The deadline to schedule one of these games is March 31st. The actual date of play can be after that, though. After the deadline I can't promise I'll be able to make time for them.

If you never filled out your survey/paid shipping/fixed your card information:

You can still do this on Backerkit. There are about 120 of you in one of these situations. I have sent out a reminder prompt this morning to the 50-ish who never filled out their survey, and those of you who never fixed your card information should have been receiving regular emails for weeks.

I am doing my best to help y'all, but those copies are now in our regular stock, available online. If we run out of copies in this print run, you'll be waiting at least until we have the funds and time to order a second. If your order isn't resolved by middle of this year, those orders will be canceled. We can't hold onto them forever!

I've heard many stories of backers sending emails five years later, asking for their games-- I have no clue what the world, or our company, will look like in even a year. This is your chance to get your copies, and I really want to give them to you! Help me help you!

If you have any questions or special needs about this, email me at [email protected] with all relevant information, including backer or order number.

If your order is missing/never delivered/returned to sender/stolen (but was shipped):

The process for this depends on your region. You'll need to contact them via a different place based on who handled your fulfillment.

AUS/NZ/Asia: Aetherworks - https://aetherworks.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new

UK/EU/Europe: Gamesquest - https://gamesquest.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new

US/Americas/ROW: CRWN Studios - https://www.crwnstudios.com/pages/contact

If you have any questions or special needs about this, email me at [email protected] with all relevant information, including backer or order number.

If your order was damaged:

Email me at [email protected] with all relevant information, including backer or order number. Include photographs of the damage. I'll figure out the best option for replacement with you.

If you can't find your digital files/deleted the email/missed it in spam:

I receive multiple messages about this every day and have to handle them all personally. Please go looking for emails from itch.io from last summer and the summer before with these links before you email me. So much of my human life has been dedicated to sending these links again. I don't mind helping and want you to have your game, but please go look first.

Getting help with this is totally reasonable for each individual, and there's no need to apologize when you contact me, but we are talking hundreds of messages in this category alone. I appreciate you taking the time to look before asking!

I can provide:

  • Core Rulebook
  • Vault
  • One Night at the Shelterwood Inn

I can't provide:

  • Architect (not out yet)
  • House Edge (not out yet)
  • Three's Company (not out yet)
  • The Company (but you can go get it for pay what you want on itch.io)
  • Liminal Horror
  • FIST

If you have any questions or special needs about this, email me at [email protected] with all relevant information, including backer or order number, after you've looked for the files in your Kickstarter and Backerkit email.

If you, a friend, or a retailer wants to order the game:

In the Americas directly from us: https://shop.hauntedtable.games/

In Europe from Modiphius: https://modiphius.net/collections/triangle-agency

Retailers can use their existing channel with Modiphius, or contact Modiphius to open an account with them.

If you have any questions or special needs about anything after reading the instructions in this update, email me at [email protected] with all relevant information, including backer or order number.

Whew. Okay. Can you tell this has been a little harrowing? I promise I'm not in as serious of a mood as it might sound. Being close to the end feels amazing.

So, what are we working on?

To be honest, almost all actual development work has been frozen because fulfillment has been so intense. I don't have anybody else helping with customer service, so all the updates and emails and fixes and clean-ups for every backer have had to go through me. This isn't great! I'm looking at potentially paying someone to help out, but despite our success with this game so far I'm not really at "have employees" level of funds.

Still, things have been awesome! See our previous update about PAX for lots of positive vibes. We also were featured on Polygon's best new TTRPGs of 2024, which was so flattering and cool!!

Here are the updates for the things I owe y'all, as backers, from our list of bonuses:

  • Three's Company (Mission) - This one was actually mostly written before the campaign even started. However, once we focused on the full game and the Vault, our knowledge of how to write a TA mission got way better. Plus, lots of people got introduced to Wuhan-Baxter's feud with the Agency in the The Vault, so its position in time is going to be a little different in most groups than we originally expected. It'll be getting an overhaul, and will probably be something close to a Vault mission (maybe a little smaller and more experimental) released by the middle of this year sometime.
  • The House Edge (FIST Module) - B. Everett Dutton over at Claymore wrote a REALLY amazing first draft for this game, but there's still a lot for me to do to finish it up. I'll be editing what's already there and filling out some parts, then hopefully releasing a version to y'all to playtest. As a reminder, this is a module you play using FIST that is set at a very specific and important turning point in the Agency's history!
  • Architect (Solo Game) - Alfred also wrote an amazing draft for this, and I'm so excited for y'all to see it. He's managed to make an interesting small game loop, create texture and context for the world inside The Vault, AND make an effective Anomaly-generation tool for GMs to use in regular mission prep, all in this one game. I'm also in the editing and filling-out phase for this one.
    • With both THE and Architect, the versions we'll be sending out for backers will be text-only, and an achievable scope within the budget. We have so many ideas and high hopes for these games, though, given more resources, and will possibly do a small-scale preorder campaign or crowdfund to fully produce them and make physical editions one day.

And here are updates for the things we've discussed or promised in a general sense, that are more about our broader goals than this specific campaign:

  • 3 Weeks Notice (Future Game) - We teased this way back during the campaign, at the $100k mark. We explained at the time that it represented a future game we wanted to make, and the promise that Haunted Table would keep working to make more TA stuff and beyond. 3WN specifically is very far out, and as we've worked on it we've realized that Triangle Agency proper needs more work and support before we jump to another game in the universe. We talk about it constantly and know what we want it to be, but we are talking at least a year of development away from even having something to show here.
    • For context, the Delta Test took us about a year of development, and that was without any of the additional pressure of running a business, or managing people's expectations, or trying to keep a steady stream of support coming for an existing game!
  • Yazeba's Crossover (Mission) - We teased THIS way back during the Stabilize All Realities Jam, and it disappeared because I overpromised during campaign production. But in that time, the game came out! I've run many games of Yazeba's with friends and Jay Dragon and I have discussed a lot of fun possibilities for it. I can't promise any deadline but I do still want to make this when I get the chance, and think you'll enjoy what we're planning.
  • Mission Game Jam - I need to get on this, but I still expect we'll have a game jam starting on March 3rd for people to publish their own missions! Getting more people's takes on Anomalies into circulation will be good for all of us playing, and our license totally allows making money off your work in the TA universe. I hear about so many great missions people have been running at home, many that feel better than even the ones I've made, and would love to see these shared with the world!
  • Additional Triangle Agency Support (Missions) - Currently I'm in lots of talks with different team members and outside writers about stuff they might want to make for Triangle Agency. My main immediate goals are to create a Vault-like template and additional guidance for Clean-Up and Market Disruption missions so that y'all have more to work with outside of Anomaly Retrieval. Beyond that, we're starting to talk about some larger-scale modules we might make for the game. This is scary! Putting a team together to build a really well-crafted and playtested campaign for an RPG (especially one like ours) takes a ton of work and money, and I have no clue if it's something y'all even want. Please share your dreams with me, here or on Discord, for what future support you'd be most interested in.
  • Triangle Agency Retrospective - In my spare time, I've been working on an extremely long and thorough detailing of the process from inception to campaign to fulfillment for other folks in the industry, and for anyone curious. No promises as to its final shape (it is currently looking like it will be novel-length and need a lot of work to make useful and readable) but I am working on this! I'm hoping to create a highly-transparent look at our entire process, because I would have liked one when I got started! If you have questions you'd like to see covered in this, let me know.
  • Another Game?! - Sean and I have begun iteration on an entirely different thing, which has proven necessary as our brains get exhausted from being completely submerged in only Triangle Agency after a while. This one is DEFINITELY a long ways out, and I have nothing to say about it, but we are really enjoying working on it. It's extremely different but I believe you'll be excited when you hear about it, too. Or at least I hope you'll trust us when we tell you it's cool. :)

So, there's a lot on the plate. If I had to guess at the order you'll see the next few things, it'll probably be:

  • Architect
  • Three's Company
  • The House Edge

But that depends on a lot of factors, and to be honest I'm not putting much time pressure on anybody, including myself, right now. (Not to mention I expect this month will continue to be about fulfillment.) We've had a long road to get here, and I'm looking to build a sustainable and positive pace for everybody going forward.

Thank you for reading, and let me know if you need anything! Especially at [email protected] with all relevant information, including backer or order number.

More soon!
